正面描述 Stylised facing head rendered in the late Celtic abstract tradition, composed of two opposed crescentic arcs meeting at the centre of the flan to suggest the brow and chin, with a vertical bar dividing the field and pellets distributed across the design as decorative and symbolic elements. The overall composition is highly schematic, reducing the human face to geometric components characteristic of British Iron Age coinage. The surfaces are irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production on a crudely prepared flan. No legend or inscription appears on this side.

附加信息

The Iceni occupied what is now Norfolk and parts of Suffolk, and their coinage circulated in a region that remained outside direct Roman administrative control until the conquest of 43 AD. This type belongs to the final decade before that annexation, when tribal coin production was still active and broadly distributed. The defeat of Caratacus and the rapid advance of the Claudian legions effectively ended indigenous coin striking across southeastern Britain within months.
