The wings are shown as a fan of elongated lines terminating in pellets above the creature's back, and a prominent torc or collar ornament encircles the neck. The legend ANDOCO is disposed around the figure in the field, identifying the issuing ruler. Pellets and ring-and-dot motifs appear in the field as decorative elements, typical of Catuvellaunian coinage of the late pre-Roman period.
