| 正面描述 | Royal inscription distributed across six horizontal lines within a plain field, each line separated by a beaded or raised border, reading ALFONSVS REX CASTELLE ET LEGIONIS. The lettering is rendered in bold Gothic-influenced Latin characters typical of mid-13th-century Castilian coinage. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded outer border. No figurative imagery appears; the legend itself constitutes the sole decorative and identificatory element. The inscription identifies the issuer as Alfonso X, King of Castile and Leon. |

| 背面描述 | Quartered shield displaying the royal arms of Castile and Leon: a triple-towered castle in the first and fourth quarters, and a passant lion in the second and third quarters, all set within a plain field divided by a central cross. The castles are depicted with characteristic Romanesque-Gothic architectural detail, featuring crenellated towers and arched gateways. The lions are shown rampant or passant with fine mane detail, facing alternating directions. The composition is enclosed within a beaded outer border consistent with the obverse. No legend appears on the reverse. |

Alfonso X ordered this issue specifically to fund military operations during the Mudéjar revolt of 1264–1268, when the Muslim populations of Murcia and Jerez — resettled under Castilian rule after Fernando III's conquests — rose simultaneously, backed by the Marinid sultan of Granada, Muhammad I. The Murcian mint, only recently brought under Castilian control, was activated for this emission. Alfonso ultimately required Aragonese military intervention to suppress the revolt, a humiliation that colored his subsequent monetary and political reforms.
