Reverse description Quartered shield displaying the royal arms of Castile and Leon: a triple-towered castle in the first and fourth quarters, and a passant lion in the second and third quarters, all set within a plain field divided by a central cross. The castles are depicted with characteristic Romanesque-Gothic architectural detail, featuring crenellated towers and arched gateways. The lions are shown rampant or passant with fine mane detail, facing alternating directions. The composition is enclosed within a beaded outer border consistent with the obverse. No legend appears on the reverse.
