The design is highly degenerate in comparison to its Hellenistic prototype, with curved linear elements suggesting hair or a wreath dissolved into abstract scroll-work. The field is plain and unlettered, consistent with the pre-inscription phase of Atrebatic coinage. The flan is small, irregular, and slightly convex, with the design occupying the central zone. Surface patina shows characteristic silver toning with areas of corrosion. |
