| Beschrijving voorzijde | Abstracted and stylised head or bust rendered in the Celtic tradition, depicted in profile with schematic facial features typical of British Iron Age coinage. The design is highly degenerate in comparison to its Hellenistic prototype, with curved linear elements suggesting hair or a wreath dissolved into abstract scroll-work. The field is plain and unlettered, consistent with the pre-inscription phase of Atrebatic coinage. The flan is small, irregular, and slightly convex, with the design occupying the central zone. Surface patina shows characteristic silver toning with areas of corrosion. |
