Reverse description The reverse displays the mint name and regnal year inscribed within a defined inner circle, surrounded by a plain outer border typical of Zand-dynasty hammered silver coinage. The central legend reads 'ضرب دارالعلم شیراز' — 'struck in the Abode of Knowledge, Shiraz' — a prestigious epithet for the city of Shiraz — followed by the AH date ۱۱۷۲ (1759 CE). The Nastaliq script lettering is boldly rendered in high relief, consistent with the irregular flan and variable strike quality characteristic of this issue.
