| Obverse description | The obverse bears a multi-line Persian religious legend executed in Nastaliq script, filling the entire field without a defined border. The inscription reads: 'شد آفتاب و ماه زر و سیم در جهان از سکه امام بحق صاحب الزمان' — a devotional couplet proclaiming that the sun, moon, gold, and silver of the world derive their worth from the coinage of the rightful Imam, the Lord of the Age (a Shi'a reference to the Hidden Imam). The lettering is boldly struck in high relief characteristic of Zand-period hammered coinage, with the text arranged in horizontal registers across the flan. |
