In her extended right hand she holds a patera, the libation dish used in Roman religious rites, while her left hand grasps a long vertical sceptre. The legend SALVS AVGVSTA arcs around the upper field, and the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in the lower exergual area, confirming this issue was struck under senatorial mandate as was standard for Flavian aes coinage. |
