The senatorial mark S C (Senatus Consulto) appears at the bottom of the field, below the wreath, attesting to the senatorial authority under which this bronze issue was struck. The bold, deeply incised letterforms of the inscription fill the interior of the wreath in a stark, epigraphic design with no figurative imagery.
