| Opis rewersu | The personification of Pax rendered as a standing female figure in long robes, facing left in the field. She extends her right arm forward, holding an olive branch, the classical symbol of peace, while her left arm cradles a large cornucopiae overflowing with fruits and foliage, symbolising abundance. The large senatorial control marks S and C (Senatus Consultum) are placed symmetrically to either side of the figure in the mid-field. The surrounding legend PAX AVGVST frames the type, proclaiming Augustan peace, a central propaganda theme of the Flavian dynasty. |
