| Aversbeschreibung | Laureate bust of Vespasian facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered in bold high relief characteristic of early Flavian portraiture. The emperor is depicted with the distinctive physiognomy associated with Vespasian: a broad, heavily modelled face, strong jaw, and close-cropped hair. A beaded border frames the design at the periphery. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG P M T P P P COS III, distributed around the full circumference of the flan. The portrait conveys the no-nonsense, almost austere character for which Vespasian was renowned in antiquity. |

| Averslegende | IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG P M T P P P COS III (Translation: Imperator Caesar Vespasianus Augustus, Pontifex Maximus, Tribunicia Potestate, Pater Patriae, Consul Tertium. Supreme commander (Imperator) Caesar Vespasian, emperor (Augustus), high priest, holder of tribunician power, father of the nation, consul for the third time.) |
| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse presents a triumphal commemorative composition celebrating Rome's suppression of the Jewish Revolt. A winged Victory stands facing left at the centre, her wings spread behind her, attaching or inscribing a large oval shield to the trunk of a palm tree — the palm being the classical symbol of Judaea. At the base of the palm tree, a mourning female figure, personifying the defeated province of Judaea, sits in a posture of grief with her hands bound, her head bowed in submission. The legend DEVICTA IVDAEA appears in the field divided to left and right of the central group, and the senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the lower exergual area. A beaded border encircles the entire design. |
