Obverse description Laureate bust of Vespasian facing left, with draped shoulder visible, rendered in the realistic portraiture style characteristic of Flavian coinage. The emperor's features are boldly modeled, with a strong jaw and aged physiognomy typical of Vespasian's official image. The encircling legend runs from lower left around the periphery of the field. The portrait occupies the majority of the obverse field and exhibits the vigorous relief typical of Julio-Claudian and Flavian bronze coinage produced at Rome.
