The emperor wears a laurel wreath and a paludamentum (military cloak) fastened at the right shoulder, with the drapery folds rendered in confident, deeply cut strokes typical of Trajanic imperial portraiture. The circumferential legend runs clockwise around the full periphery of the field, identifying the emperor with his full titulature. The portrait displays the vigorous, assured style associated with the Rome Mint workshops during the later years of Trajan's reign. |

| Description du revers | Fortuna Redux seated left on a throne, draped, holding a rudder set on a globe in her right hand and a cornucopiae in her left, symbolising the safe return of the emperor and the prosperity he brings. In the lower exergue, the abbreviated legend FORT RED is inscribed on a groundline, while the senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears below in the field. The surrounding circular legend SENATVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANVS runs along the outer border, attributing the issue to the authority of the Roman senate and people. The composition is characteristic of the Trajanic Fortuna Redux type struck at Rome to commemorate the emperor's return from the Parthian campaign. |
