| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in high relief with characteristic strong, mature facial features. The emperor wears a laurel wreath and a paludamentum (military cloak) fastened at the right shoulder, with the drapery folds rendered in confident, deeply cut strokes typical of Trajanic imperial portraiture. The circumferential legend runs clockwise around the full periphery of the field, identifying the emperor with his full titulature. The portrait displays the vigorous, assured style associated with the Rome Mint workshops during the later years of Trajan's reign. |

| Obverse lettering | IMP CAES NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS VI P P (Translation: Imperator, Caesar, Nervae Traiano Optimo, Augustus, Germanicus, Dacicus, Pontifex Maximus, Tribunicia Potestate, Consul Sextum, Pater Patriae. Supreme commander (Imperator), Caesar, Nerva Trajan, the best emperor (Augustus), conqueror of the Germans, conqueror of the Dacians, high priest, holder of tribunician power, consul for the sixth time, father of the nation.) |
| Reverse description | Fortuna Redux seated left on a throne, draped, holding a rudder set on a globe in her right hand and a cornucopiae in her left, symbolising the safe return of the emperor and the prosperity he brings. In the lower exergue, the abbreviated legend FORT RED is inscribed on a groundline, while the senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears below in the field. The surrounding circular legend SENATVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANVS runs along the outer border, attributing the issue to the authority of the Roman senate and people. The composition is characteristic of the Trajanic Fortuna Redux type struck at Rome to commemorate the emperor's return from the Parthian campaign. |
