| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the high-relief imperial portrait style characteristic of the Trajanic period, occasionally depicted with aegis on the left shoulder. The effigy displays the emperor's distinctive features with a laurel wreath crown. The encircling obverse legend runs along the rim, naming Trajan with his full imperial titulature. | Reverse description | A monumental triumphal arch depicted in three-quarter or frontal view, its frieze inscribed IOM (Iovi Optimo Maximo, to Jupiter Best and Greatest), celebrating Trajan's Dacian victories. Atop the tympanum stands the figure of Jupiter, while the arch is surmounted by a six-horse chariot (sextiugis) driven by two winged Victories, conveying themes of divine sanction and military triumph. The reverse legend S P Q R OPTIMO PRINCIPI appears in the field with the senatorial authority mark S C in exergue or field.
