| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered with characteristic realism of Roman imperial portraiture. The emperor's effigy displays a laurel wreath crown with fine detail, and the drapery of the paludamentum is visible over the left shoulder. The encircling legend runs along the outer border of the obverse field in crisp Latin capitals. The portrait exhibits the strong, mature physiognomy associated with Trajanic coinage of the later period, circa 114–117 AD. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A complex historical scene depicting Emperor Trajan, bare-headed and clad in military dress, seated left upon a raised tribunal platform accompanied by a prefect to his right, in the act of formally presenting Parthamaspates as client king to a personification of Parthia. Parthamaspates stands to the left before the tribunal, while the kneeling female figure of Parthia, rendered in eastern dress, receives him in a gesture of submission. The composition commemorates the historically significant diplomatic and military event of 116 AD, when Trajan installed Parthamaspates as a Roman-backed ruler over Parthia. The legend REX PARTHIS DATVS appears in the field, with S C (Senatus Consultum) flanking the central scene, affirming senatorial authority for the issue. |
