The circumferential Greek legend encircles the effigy, reading ΒΑϹΙΛΕΩϹ ΡΟΙΜΗΤΑΛΚΟΥ, identifying the ruler by name and title. The portrait is executed in the robust, somewhat provincial hammered style characteristic of Bosporan coinage of the mid-second century AD.
