The composition is deliberately spare, the palm tree serving as the sole device against a plain, unadorned field, giving the image immediate iconographic clarity. The surrounding legend proclaims the abolition of malicious prosecutions related to the fiscus Iudaicus, the Jewish tax. The senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is incorporated within the legend.
