| Descrizione del rovescio | Depiction of a monumental triumphal arch rendered in three-quarter perspective, showing the front face and left lateral side in considerable architectural detail. The arch is richly ornamented with relief sculpture, including statues of Mars and Pax flanking the structure, along with two standing soldiers. Atop the arch, the Emperor Nero is shown in a quadriga (four-horse chariot) accompanied by a winged Victory figure. The senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears prominently in the field. The composition is an ambitious attempt at spatial depth unusual for Roman imperial bronze coinage of the period. |
