A latticed window is visible on the left side of the temple, while double panelled doors appear on the right, adorned with a garland hung across them to signify their closure — a rare and celebrated event symbolising universal peace. The exergual field carries the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanking the temple. The legend PACE P R TERRA MARIQ PARTA IANVM CLVSIT encircles the design, commemorating Nero's declaration of peace on land and sea and the consequent closing of the temple gates. |
