| Description du revers | Fortuna Redux seated left on a high-backed throne, rendered in dignified repose with drapery falling in naturalistic folds across her lap and legs. In her right hand she holds a rudder set upon a globe, symbolizing the guidance of fate, while her left hand grasps a cornucopia, emblematic of prosperity and abundance. The legend PONT MAX TR POT COS is distributed around the periphery, while FORT RED appears in the exergue, and the senatorial authorization mark S C is placed in the field to either side of the enthroned figure. The composition is bold and well-centered, consistent with the orichalcum sestertii struck at Rome in the early months of Hadrian's reign. |
