| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Hadrian facing right, with a short beard rendered in finely modeled curls characteristic of early Hadrianic portraiture. The emperor is depicted with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, presenting an authoritative yet refined imperial effigy. The circumferential legend, reading from the left in Latin capitals, encircles the bust and occupies the full border of the flan. In her right hand she holds a rudder set upon a globe, symbolizing the guidance of fate, while her left hand grasps a cornucopia, emblematic of prosperity and abundance. The legend PONT MAX TR POT COS is distributed around the periphery, while FORT RED appears in the exergue, and the senatorial authorization mark S C is placed in the field to either side of the enthroned figure.
