Obverse description Laureate bust of Hadrian, draped and cuirassed, facing left, viewed from the front, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and beard characteristic of Hadrianic portraiture. The emperor's effigy displays a military paludamentum over the cuirass, with drapery visible at the left shoulder. The circumferential legend, executed in crisp Roman capitals, runs along the beaded border encircling the portrait. The field shows the characteristic green patina of an orichalcum sestertius struck at Rome.
