The effigy displays the emperor's distinctive full beard, an innovation in Roman imperial portraiture associated with Hadrian's philhellenic aesthetic. The encircling Latin legend reads HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, running along the inner border of the coin's rim. |

She holds a parazonium (short military sword) in her left hand at her side and an upright hasta (spear) in her right hand. The figure is rendered in classical Roman sculptural style, conveying strength and martial authority. The abbreviated legend COS III flanks the field above, while the senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in the lower field on either side of the exergual area. |
