Beschrijving voorzijde Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Galba facing right, with short hair rendered in tight curls and a slightly aged physiognomy consistent with his portraiture. The emperor is depicted with a paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, conveying his military authority. The encircling legend reads IMP SER GALBA AVG TR P, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait style reflects the realistic, unidealized tradition of late Julio-Claudian and early Flavian Roman coinage. The die work is bold and confident, characteristic of the Rome mint during the tumultuous Year of the Four Emperors.

Beschrijving keerzijde The goddess Roma is depicted seated left upon a cuirass, helmeted and draped, holding a small Victory figure in her extended right hand and resting her left hand upon a large round shield set at her side. The composition is set within a plain field, with the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanking the central figure at left and right. The legend ROMA appears in the exergue below the seated figure. The scene is a classic personification type evoking the eternal power and martial spirit of the city of Rome, frequently employed on Julio-Claudian and early imperial bronze coinage.
