Surrounding the central device is a circular Latin legend reading M AGRIPPA COS III MVNICIPI PARN, distributed around the inner border of the coin. The lettering is bold and deeply struck, though unevenly spaced due to the irregular flan. A beaded border frames the entire design. This reverse type is characteristic of the municipal coinage of Gades struck under the authority of M. Agrippa during his third consulship. |
