The surrounding circular legend IMP NERVA CAESAR AVGVSTVS REST runs along the periphery, identifying Nerva as the restitutor of this Augustan type. The legend and S C are rendered in well-spaced, clear capital letters consistent with issues of the Rome Mint under Nerva.
