正面描述 Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, depicted from the rear or side. The effigy displays military attire beneath the draped paludamentum, conveying imperial authority. The surrounding Latin legend identifies the emperor as Hadrianus Augustus. The portrait style is characteristic of Hadrianic court workshops, with careful attention to the emperor's features and wreath of laurel. The flan is irregular, typical of hammered semisses of this period.

附加信息

Hadrian's third consulship, held from 119 AD onward, anchored the dating of this issue — the COS III designation without tribunician year places it in the 124–125 window during a period when Hadrian was largely absent from Rome, traveling the provinces on the extended imperial tours that defined his reign. The senatorial S C mark reflects the formal fiction that the Senate retained authority over base-metal coinage, a convention the principate had long since hollowed out in practice.

The semis denomination was already in steep decline by this point, effectively abandoned within a generation.
