Beschrijving voorzijde Laureate bust of Augustus facing right, rendered in the Roman provincial style typical of the Paestan mint under the early Imperial period. The portrait, though worn, retains the characteristic features of Augustan iconography, with the laureate wreath visible atop the head. No obverse legend is discernible on this specimen, which is consistent with some issues from Paestum where the imperial portrait appears without accompanying titulature. The flan is irregular, as is typical of hammered provincial bronze coinage of this era.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a multi-line Latin inscription arranged within a wreath of laurel or olive leaves, filling the entire field. The legend names the two local magistrates responsible for the issue — Marcus Egnatius and Quintus Octavius — in their capacity as duovirs (IIviri) of Paestum, with the abbreviations S S C (semis, senatus consulto) denoting the denomination and the authority of the local senate. The wreath border encircling the inscription is a hallmark of colonial bronze coinage from Paestum during the Augustan period. The overall layout is characteristic of the civic coinage conventions adopted by Roman colonies in southern Italy.
