| Obverse description | Central field bears the Shi'ite kalima in bold Arabic script, divided into two registers by a horizontal line: the upper register contains the shahada declaration and the lower register bears the names of the Twelve Imams. The inscription is rendered in a characteristic Nasta'liq-influenced hand typical of Caucasian khanate coinage. The legends fill the flan to the borders, with a beaded or dotted rim encircling the entire design. |
