| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central design features a small armillary sphere surmounted by a royal crown, both rendered in bold relief against a plain field. The armillary sphere bears the Portuguese royal arms — five shields arranged in a cross pattern — characteristic of the Goa mint's São Tomé coinage under João VI. The entire device is encircled by a beaded border. The composition is compact and heraldic in style, consistent with hammered gold coinage of early 19th-century Portuguese India. No legend appears on the obverse. |
