| 裏面の説明 | A floriated cross pattée occupies the centre of the field, its four arms terminating in decorative rounded lobes, consistent with the traditional Portuguese São Tomé cross motif. The date 1819 is divided in two parts — '18' and '19' — placed in the lower two quadrants formed by the cross arms. The denomination '4' and 'X' (for Xerafins) are inscribed in the upper two quadrants respectively. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, and the execution reflects the hand-struck character typical of the Goa mint's hammered gold issues. |
