The effigy occupies the majority of the coin's field in high relief, rendered in the Baroque style characteristic of early 18th-century Russian imperial coinage. A circular Cyrillic legend surrounds the portrait, reading ПЕТРЬ II ИМПЕРАТОРЬ И САМОДЕРЖЕЦЬ ВСЕРОСIИСКИ, identifying the ruler as Emperor and Autocrat of All Russia.
