Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing bust of Emperor Alexander I rendered in a neoclassical style, with finely engraved wavy hair and a truncated shoulder. The portrait, modelled by engraver Karl Leberecht, occupies the central field and exhibits a youthful, idealised likeness of the tsar. A circular Cyrillic legend surrounds the effigy, reading Б•М• АЛЕКСАНДРЪ I ИМП И САМОД•ВСЕРОСС•, denoting his imperial and autocratic titles by the grace of God, with the mint mark СПБ appearing at the lower portion of the legend. The coin is bordered by a fine dentillated rim.
