| Obverse description | Central field features two upright rice stalks with full grain-laden heads and broad leaves rising from the base, rendered in high relief. The denomination '1 PIASTRE' is inscribed in two lines above the rice plants, with the numeral '1' prominently displayed. The circular legend 'FEDERATION INDOCHINOISE' runs along the inner border, with the text divided on either side of the design. The genuine 1947 aluminium piastre was struck at Paris as French Indochina's colonial administration was already losing its grip — the First Indochina War had begun in December 1946. This is a replica; the original issue itself circulated barely at all before the monetary system it belonged to began collapsing alongside French military authority in the region.
