Obverse description The quartered coat of arms of the County of Lippe occupies the central field, surmounted by an elaborate mantle crown with decorative scrollwork and foliate flourishes extending to either side. The shield displays the characteristic Lippe rose in the upper quarters and additional armorial charges in the lower quarters, all rendered in bold relief typical of late 17th-century German coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition, identifying the issuing ruler.

Reverse description The central field features a raised oval cartouche bearing the denomination inscribed in four lines as 'III / EINEN / REICHS / THAL:', below which appear the mint master's initials 'I H'. The outer legend, running along the coin's periphery, contains the date 1672 and identifies the coin as Lippe silver coinage. A decorative border of fine milling or rope-work frames the inner cartouche, consistent with the milled silver coinage standards of the period.
