Obverse description Crowned bust of Enrique IV facing left, set within a quatrefoil or lobate inner circle formed by an ornamental beaded border. The royal effigy displays flowing hair and is surmounted by a large crown with floral finials. The surrounding legend in Gothic-influenced Latin characters runs along the outer periphery of the coin, separated from the central motif by a dotted border. The overall style is characteristic of Castilian hammered coinage of the mid-fifteenth century, with bold, slightly crude relief typical of the period.
