Obverse description Facing crowned bust of King Enrique II of Castile and León rendered in Gothic style, depicted full-face with crown surmounted by fleurs-de-lis and wearing a draped mantle. The king's features are stylized in the medieval Castilian manner, with the bust occupying the central field within a beaded inner circle. A small heraldic device (possibly a mint mark) appears to the left of the bust. The surrounding Latin legend reads ENRICVS DEI GRACIA REX CASTELLE, interrupted by the mint letter, and runs between the beaded inner circle and the irregular outer rim.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering ENRICVS : DEI : GRACIA : REX : CASTELLE E N
