| Popis rubu | Victory, draped, standing left, holding a wreath in her extended right hand and a palm branch in her left hand. She stands upon a cista mystica, the sacred basket associated with the Dionysiac mysteries, which is flanked by two coiled serpents rising on either side — a compositional motif referencing the former Antonian imagery now appropriated by Octavian to signal his triumph in the East. The reverse legend ASIA RECEPTA arcs around the design, proclaiming the recapture of the province of Asia following the defeat of Antony and Cleopatra. The overall composition is compact and well-balanced within the small module of the quinarius flan. |
