| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate head of Domitian facing right, with short hair and a strongly modeled profile characteristic of Flavian portraiture. The neck is slightly draped. The encircling legend reads IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P VIIII, distributed around the periphery of the flan, with the inscription beginning at the lower left and running clockwise. The die work reflects the competent but sometimes hurried engraving style of the Rome Mint under the Flavians. |
