| Beschrijving voorzijde | The field displays the Latin legend COM / ITES / COR arranged in three horizontal lines, abbreviating the issuing authority's title 'Comites Corregii' (Counts of Correggio). A fleur-de-lis ornament appears above the uppermost line of text, with a second fleur-de-lis below the lowest line, serving as decorative dividers. The lettering is rendered in a bold, Gothic-influenced majuscule characteristic of late sixteenth-century north Italian hammered coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with typical surface granularity consistent with hand-struck copper production of the period. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Correggio's joint-count period of the 1570s was administratively unusual even by the fragmented standards of the Po Valley lordships — the four Gerolamo, Gilberto, Camillo, and Fabrizio ruled collectively following the partition of the county among branches of the da Correggio family, a dynastic arrangement that left the tiny state's coinage officially anonymous precisely because assigning a single name to the obverse would have constituted a political statement none of the four co-rulers was willing to make.
The county was absorbed into the Este domains of Modena in 1635, ending over three centuries of da Correggio autonomous issue.
