Obverse description Bust of Pope Clement VIII facing left, depicted in pontifical vestments comprising a richly draped mozetta and stole, with the papal camauro upon his head. The portrait is rendered in a bold, high-relief hammered style characteristic of late sixteenth-century Italian coinage. The encircling Latin legend reads CLEMENS VIII PONT MAX, with the mint marks B and M flanking a star at the base of the bust in the lower field.
