Reverse description A prominent upward-pointing crescent occupies the central field, its horns directed skyward, flanked and surmounted by three pellet-stars arranged symmetrically — one above the crescent between the horns and one to each side. The municipal legend BALLEIA is inscribed around the periphery in Latin characters, reading circularly around the design. The overall composition is characteristic of the astral symbolism commonly employed by Hispano-Roman civic mints of the late Republican era.
