| Obverse description | Central field bearing the Shahada (Islamic declaration of faith, the Kalima) inscribed in multiple lines of Kufic Arabic script, with the name of the heir apparent Ibrahim incorporated within the legend. The inscriptions are arranged horizontally across the flan in characteristic Almoravid style, with lines separated by linear dividers. The coin is struck on an irregular, somewhat ragged flan typical of hammered Almoravid small silver coinage of the period. |
