| Beschrijving voorzijde | Four lines of Kufic Arabic legend filling the field, reading 'Amir al-Muslimin wa Nasir al-Din Ali ibn Yusuf' (Commander of the Muslims, Defender of the Faith, Ali ibn Yusuf). The inscription is struck in bold relief on a plain field, with no border or decorative elements. The lettering is characteristic of Almoravid epigraphic style, with angular Kufic script. The flan is small and irregular, typical of hammered silver qirats of this period. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Ali ibn Yusuf ruled the Almoravid empire at its greatest territorial extent, but the years 1128–1132 mark the beginning of a slow unraveling — Almohad pressure from the Atlas Mountains was already destabilizing the dynasty's Moroccan heartland while its Iberian administrators struggled to hold al-Andalus. The qirat, a fractional silver denomination, was the workhorse of small-scale Andalusian commerce, and surviving examples attributable to Ali ibn Yusuf are far less frequently encountered than his gold dinars.
