Obverse description A stylized palm tree occupies the center of the field, depicted with a tall trunk and spreading fronds rendered in a schematic, provincial style characteristic of Bar Kokhba coinage. The Hebrew legend is divided on either side of the tree trunk, reading YERUSHALAYIM (Jerusalem). The coin is struck on an irregular planchet with a somewhat uneven surface, typical of the hastily produced coinage of the revolt period.
