Obverse description Within a plain inner circle, a stylized depiction of the Tower of David rendered as a crenellated keep with an arched gateway at its base, executed in the crude hammered style characteristic of Crusader billon and copper coinage. Pellets appear in the field between the inner circle and the outer border. Fragments of the legend T•V•R•R•I•S• (TURRIS, Latin for 'tower') are distributed around the periphery outside the inner circle, though partially obscured by the irregular flan.
