| 裏面の説明 | A square cartouche frames a four-line Cyrillic inscription drawn from Psalm 115:1 (Vulgate), reading НЕ НАМЪ, НЕ НАМЪ, А ИМЯНИ ТВОЕМУ, meaning 'Not unto us, not unto us, but unto Thy name.' Below the cartouche appear the mint mark and assayer initials С∙М∙ А∙И, identifying the St. Petersburg (Banking) Mint and the responsible assay master. The austere, text-dominated reverse is characteristic of the deeply personal religious symbolism favoured by Emperor Paul I, who adopted this psalm verse as a personal motto.
