Casimir IV ruled for 45 years without ever summoning a general sejm to approve taxation, funding his wars — including the Thirteen Years' War against the Teutonic Order — largely through currency manipulation and debasement. The półgrosz issues across his reign show a measurable decline in silver fineness, a deliberate fiscal tool rather than a minting accident.
